Officer Kimble is a 15 year veteran of the Wichita Police Department. Officer Kimble is married and the proud father of two young boys. He is currently assigned to the Patrol North Community Policing Unit as the coordinator for 47 beat. Officer Kimble has received three Bronze Wreaths of Merit and four Distinguished Service Bars during his career and in January of 2009 received the “Champions of Respect” award from the Sedgwick County Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Coalition. He spearheaded a project that resulted in less hold time for officers entering cases on the phone, resulting in an overall improvement of response times. In June of this year the Commerce Bank was robbed; almost three weeks later in July Officer Kimble was able to tap into his network of informants which later resulted in an arrest for the robbery. Officer Kimble is a hard working, self-motivated, and professional individual whose level of dedication has been consistent.

 

Service Officer Hazell has been assigned to the Patrol North station for the last three years. He previously held positions in Police Records, Investigations and City Hall Security. In his current assignment as a BAT Van Operator for the Patrol North Bureau, Richard identified a design flaw in the BAT Van that created an officer safety issue and for under $100. was able to correct the problem. S.O. Hazell has aided in developing DUI skills to new officers. Richard’s rapport with officers is outstanding, they welcome and encourage him to be a part of what the team is doing. Richard enjoys working with his wife when he is off duty and helps her with her pet sitting business.  

Over the past 12 years and at least a half dozen Community Policing Officers being assigned to her area, Pat has been the face of citizen’s involvement in crime reduction and improving the quality of life near her home. She has shown no qualms in speaking out about gangs and drug activity, negligent property owners and crime trends. She has organized the monthly Eastridge Neighborhood Association meeting to educate and empower her neighbors to do the same. She and her colleagues have organized neighborhood cleanups, Neighborhood Watches, and material assistance for Clark Elementary School. Her knowledge of the residents and history of the area have proven an invaluable resource for each beat officers who has taken over responsibility for her area.
