Leave outdoor lights on in the evenings. * Install motion sensor lights on the front of your house. *Don't leave anything of value, or anything that looks like it may have value, in plain view in your car. * Lock all doors at night and everytime you leave the house. even if it's just to work in the yard. *Clearly display house numbers so police and other emergency vehicles can quickly locate your home. *Call 9-1-1 to report ALL suspicious activity or persons. Also, in looking at what the burglars are after, they really are looking for game systems, large flat-screen TV's and laptops.  If you have these two items in your home, BE SURE you write down the serial numbers and model numbers of your property.  If these items get stolen, you can provide these numbers to the police officer who takes your report.  If the officer gets the serial numbers, they get listed as stolen property and the pawn shops should not accept them.  Help create a more safe and secure community by signing up to receive citizen, business and neighborhood alerts.
