Business Security Surveys
A Crime Prevention Officer will come to your business and look at the physical elements such as doors, locks, windows and parking lot from a safety and security standpoint. The survey includes as introduction or review of safety practices for conducting regular business activities. Operation Identification
This program is designed to discourage burglary and theft from homes and businesses, by marking your property with an easily traced identification number. More information on Operation Identification is available along with a downloadable brochure.
Neighborhood Watch
Neighborhood Watch is a program of residents working with the Police Department for a safer community. For more information on the Neighborhood Watch Program.
Camp Awareness Information
Camp Awareness is a four-day summer camp for boys' ages 7-10 that are not currently involved in the Cub Scout Program. The participants are recruited by BSA representatives through schools and other community organizations. Day camp activities include swimming, archery arts and crafts and field games. Camp Awareness is a cooperative effort between the Wichita Police Department and Boy Scouts of America.
Christmas Crusade for Children Information
The Christmas Crusade program provides Christmas presents to children of families having financial difficulties during the Christmas holiday season. Officers identify eligible families and submit the names of children aged newborn to seventeen years of age. Listeners of KFDI AM/FM and KYQQ radio stations "adopt" the children by purchasing them a gift for the holiday. "The program, active since 1976, is a partnership between the Wichita Police Department, Journal Broadcast Group and its listeners.
