What’s more fun than a fireworks display? A fireworks’ party on the river - complete with margaritas.

Enter Fire on the Water: CityArts annual tribute to the popular festival fireworks event. The party will be from 7 to 10:30 p.m. May 17 at the Wichita Boathouse, 335 W. Lewis.

Tickets to the party are $25 and include Mexican food, music, frosty libations (how does a frozen margarita sound?), precious access to clean restrooms, a chance to win a seat on the Arty Barges (weather permitting), and the best fireworks-watching location in Wichita. Fire on the Water is a family-friendly event -- kids 12 and under will be admitted for $12.

Fire on the Water is sponsored by the Arts Council as a fundraiser for CityArts’ children’s arts programs. The doors open at 7 p.m. with munching and merriment leading up to the launch of the Arty Barges to view the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Reservations are limited and can be made by calling CityArts at (316) 337-9040.
