Mid-Continent Provides Free Internet Access to Passengers
Toward the goal of increasing customer service to airline passengers, Wichita Mid-Continent Airport now provides free Internet service to passengers who travel with computers. "Wi-Fi" is a wireless service that is available throughout Mid-Continent’s terminal for those passengers with computers equipped for wireless Internet access. Also, free hardwire Internet service is available at sixteen workstations provided in the terminal concourses.

"Today’s traveler requires as many amenities as can be provided in order to make air travel a productive experience," said Mayor Carlos Mayans. "This new passenger advantage enhances Wichita’s growing air service."

To view this new service, join us for a media tour, TODAY, 3 PM, at Mid-Continent Airport. We will be meeting at the sculpture in front of the Information Booth.

Passenger Count Jumps 8% in March
March 2004 passenger volumes at Mid-Continent Airport grew 8% from March 2003. March 2004 passenger count was 126,101 compared to 116,914 in March of 2003. Airport officials attribute much of this growth to the Fair Fares effort, which continues to save travelers millions. "This growth is especially significant when placed in the context of last year’s numbers when more passengers flew Mid-Continent Airport than any other year in its history," said Bailis Bell, Director of Airports. For full details of activity reports and the history from year to year, go to www.flywichita.com and click on "Statistics."

Mid-Continent Turns 50
April 1 was a big day for Mid-Continent as the State’s largest airport turned 50 years old. A celebration is planned for upcoming months as the airport will celebrate several mile markers including the anniversary of the first airlines to arrive for service and the official dedication. For now, visitors can see how the Airport has changed over the years by visiting the Airport website at www.flywichita.com.
